Ethan Bodnar is a landscape designer and artist living in Oakland, California. Currently working on freelance garden design projects and starting a plant based company.
Ethan’s helped design and install outdoor spaces with the team at Small Spot Gardens and assisted with inventory management at East Bay Wilds Nursery.
Previously, Ethan designed the design curriculum at Skillshare, was on the national board of AIGA, made a book with HOW Books called Creative Grab Bag, interned with co:lab and Behance.
Ethan’s freelance clients have included 826 National, Do Lectures USA, BEAM Camp, General Assembly, Designer Fund, Plants in a Box, Garden Tribe, and DIY.org.
Ethan’s writing can be found in Dwell and Pacific Horticulture, with interviews at Electric Objects, Sketch Swap, and Speak Up.
Ethan studied graphic design at the Hartford Art School, horticulture at Merritt College, social design with Project M, and is an Eagle Scout.
Future career paths include — playground designer, eco-therapist, botanical garden founder, permaculture farmer, and beekeeper.
